Dessert-Inspired Rye Whiskies

WhistlePig Debuts Maple Crème Brûlée Rye

Dessert-inspired rye whiskies are expanding seasonal spirits offerings as WhistlePig introduces its limited-edition 12 Year Rye Single Finish Maple Crème Brûlée. The release uses specially treated maple syrup barrels to create dessert-like flavors without adding ingredients directly to the whiskey, offering a distinctive take on traditional barrel finishing.

WhistlePig repurposes barrels previously used for its maple syrup, re-charring the oak to caramelize remaining sugars before rebuilding them. Its 12 Year Rye then spends approximately one month inside these barrels, developing maple, caramel, and spice notes reminiscent of crème brûlée. The whiskey became available November 5, 2026, for $124.99 through select retailers and the brand's website.

For WhistlePig, the release strengthens its premium spirits portfolio while highlighting its Vermont heritage. The limited availability and distinctive production method could attract whiskey enthusiasts and seasonal gift buyers seeking specialty expressions.
