Panic and Sony Unveil a New Trailer for the Despelote Game

Game developer Panic works together with Sony on a new game dubbed Despelote and it is described as a “beautiful slice-of-life adventure” that centers around childhood and football. The title set takes place in Ecuador in 2001, which is the same year that the country reached its first qualifying run toward the World Cup.

The game invites players to explore the city of Quito, where they can play football and engage in interactions with the townspeople. Players are playing in a first-person perspective and the design takes on a unique art style that is grainy yet full of animation. Despelote was inspired by lead co-creator Julián Cordero and his childhood. It has full voice acting done in Spanish with the additional option for localized subtitles.
