Savioke's 'Relay' delivery robots aim to reduce the workload of traditional service staff and are ideal for use in international hotels. Mimicking concepts like the A.L.O. Botlr, a robotic butler that is currently replacing maid staff at Cupertino's Aloft Hotel, this high tech concept proves that the hospitality industry is evolving at a staggering rate.
While hotels in Asia are replacing traditional concierges with playful robots -- from digitized dinosaurs to lifelike droids -- this concept aims to cut hospitality costs by doubling as a delivery solution that is both budget-friendly and convenient for both hotel staff and visitors.
Savioke's delivery robots are meant to transport small items and essentials to hotel visitors. Though unable to transport hot meals and other traditional room service orders, the electronic service robots will free up the schedules of hotel staff, leaving them in charge of priority tasks rather than smaller errands like toothpaste and Starbucks coffee deliveries.
