'Sprint' recently announced that it will hand deliver new phones to customers. For Millennial consumers, convenience has become a top priority. The desire for simple and convenient services has impacted everything from the way Millennials order their lunch to the way they commute to work.
The latest promotion from Spirit tries to capitalize on the Millennial need for convenience. As part of its new promotion, Spirit promises to hand deliver new phones to customers free of charge. Customers can request that their new device is delivered to their home, a Starbucks or any other location. As Sprint's vice president Rod Millar explains, "We will deliver pretty much anywhere… and it’s an exact-on-time delivery." In addition to bringing customers their new smartphone, a Sprint employee will also help the customer set up their device and answer any questions they may have.
The new promotion is designed to appeal to Millennial consumers who prefer the convenience of home delivery over the in-store experience. This notion reflects the same sentiment that Millennials tend to shop for electronic devices online instead of visiting traditional brick-and-motor locations.
