Modular instrument maker Erica Synths has unveiled the new DB-01 desktop bassline synthesizer, which was recently debuted at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM2020) trade show in California. Unlike modular units, the DB-01 extends its desktop family of synthesizers to carve out its own space for new sound exploration.
By incorporating a variety of modulation abilities, the synth is able to achieve a range of sounds, ranging from distinct melodies, massive drones, distressed noise, and aggressive basslines.
The unit comes with a signature sound engine and advanced sequencer, also incorporating the filter design from Erica Synths' Acidbox. The DB-01's compact aluminum hardware unit offers many features, including: overdrive, transistor-based suboscillator, BBD-based detune, syncable LFO, sequence transposing, pattern randomization, arpeggiator, and many more.
Erica Synths' DB-01 will be available beginning in Spring 2020 for €460.
