Carey Mulligan is well known for her impressive acting chops, but she steps into the recording studio for the Dazed & Confused January 2014 issue. Rankin photographed the diminutive blonde in a series of black and white shots. Mulligan wears elaborate floor-length gowns, but keeps her hair and make-up simple. She simply pulls her wispy blonde coif away from her face, and highlights her eyes with some neutral eye shadow. The final “casual” statement is the oversized mens jacket and caplets she wears overtop the evening gowns.The featured designers include Valentino, Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton. 

I’m not sure if this editorial signals an impending album from the accomplished actress, but if anyone could do the actress-singer crossover successfully, my money would be on this talented lady.
