Giving you a real-time view of your car's performance, the 'Dash' app from startup Dash Labs shows you live stats from your car. Using a dongle that plugs into your car, the app can retrieve information. It tracks your automobile's performance while letting you know if you're driving inefficiently. In addition, the app records when you step on the brakes too hard in addition to other metrics. All of the stats are aggregated and visualized for you to see so you can improve your driving habits.
In addition to helping you drive better, Dash also serves to help improve your safety. If the airbags are deployed, the app can detect that and automatically contact emergency services. In addition, if something is wrong with your engine, Dash can detect the problem before it even shows up on your dashboard.
