DART Now Accepts Contactless Payment from its Riders

Passengers riding the DART public transit system are now able to use contactless payment to settle their fares. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) accepts contactless credit, debit cards, or payment-enabled mobile phones or wearable devices.

The touch-free fare payment extends to the GoPass mobile app and GoPass Tap card. DART aims to create an easier and more convenient rider experience. The transit system partnered with Vix Pules to create a multi-modal, multi-operator payment solution. The system unifies account-based ticketing and contactless payments into a secure platform.

GoPass Tap card readers are located on the platforms at rail stations and onboard DART vehicles for riders to pay their fares. No selection is required on the passenger's side as the system automatically selects the appropriate fare per ride.
