Copenhagen-based OEO Studio embarked on a Danish interior design project after the firm was commissioned by Denmark's Designmuseum to reimagine and renovate the institution's cafe and shop. OEO Studio focused on introducing a sophisticated yet playful feel to the space while preserving the work of the original designer—Kaare Klint who is known as the father of modern Danish furniture design. The firm didn't make any structural changes to the space. In order to pay homage to Kaare Klint, OEO Studio sourced "materials and colors that reference Klint's design from the 1920s." Additionally, the practice looked to incorporate functional and flexible furniture—from custom-built cabinets that fit the space perfectly to steel serving counters that have a "monolithic" feel.
