Daniel Pelavin Crafts Lavish Vintage-Inspire Containers

Designer Daniel Pelavin looked to the past for inspiration to create this ornate packaging for the French cosmetic company La Société Parisienne de Savons. Focusing on the rich history of French cosmetics, the owner of the company Stéphane Ouaknine took the time to track down the heirs of long since defunct French cosmetic companies and requested their permission to use the vintage designs once associated with their families' companies and use them as a creative reference.

Working from sun distress scraps of age-old packaging, Daniel Pelavin created a line of meticulously detailed packaging that screams indulgence and opulence. Hearkening back to a time of lavish design and Art Deco-inspired typography, these delicate and feminine packages house an assortment of softly scented soaps, powders and balms -- the perfect beautifying accessories for wannabe flappers and vintage fiends.
