Dame Products, a female-led sex toy company, decided to take the patriarchy out of the vibrator by designing a handheld device that looks more like an ovular blob and not any sort of phallus. Known as the Pom, this vibrator was specially designed based on female feedback, and not what a man thinks a woman wants.

Dame Products began the design of the Pom by surveying hundreds of women to ensure it was confident before prototypes were even drawn up. Based on its research, Dame Products finally decided on a design that featured an organic shape and came with a pointed area and broad base.

In addition to releasing the Pom, Dame Products is aiming to rebrand the vibrator as a wellness product, a task that is perhaps not best suited for a male entrepreneur.
