Deus Ex Machina's Collaboration Creates a Vintage-Themed Electric Bike

'Deus Ex Machina' held a motorcycle design competition that was won by this stripped-down design created by Joe Fischer and Ryan Mischkulnig. The Melbourne duo took inspiration from a mid-century bike design and upgraded it with modern technology to create their customized electric bike.

Originally, the duo started with a Honda C90 Cub and used that as the platform to completely redesign the bike into a competition winner. The team took away the traditional elements of the bike -- like the airbox and the engine mounts -- and added visual design elements to enhance its design. The design uses an electric motor that is environmentally friendly while sticking to a vintage aesthetic.
