'Knyttan' is now offering customers the opportunity to personalize their wardrobe with its customizable clothing service. The London-based company currently sells high-end garments made by different independent designers. However, Knyttan now wants to give customers the added option of adjusting these garments to suit their own personal style.
Through Knyttan, customers will be able to choose the color, pattern and cut of their piece. They can also choose from more advanced options, which allow them to invert prints, adjust patterns and even alter the weight of the item. Customers can personalize these pieces right down to the label, which will feature their own name and clothing ID number. Once a customer is satisfied with their choices, they send their specifications to a computer-generated machine, which will manufacture the custom garment for them.
While customizable clothing is not an entirely new concept, Knyttan has managed to dramatically reduce the time it takes to produce these garments. Rather than outsourcing its orders, Knyttan manufactures each piece locally. This approach means that you can now receive a completely personalized sweater in just two hours time.
