Custard parfaits are found to be a very delicious and healthy treat often enjoyed during the warmer seasons. However, L.A-based food editor Karen creates an autumnal version which includes pumpkin and semifreddo.
Semifreddo is a semi-frozen custard which is similar to ice cream but with a different texture. For this parfait recipe, semifreddo is utilized in place of the usual custard for a more exciting dish. Mixing egg yolks, whipped cream and pumpkin puree, Karen was able to create the perfect custard parfait for the fall season. To top off the delicious snack, Karen also layered her parfait with graham cracker crumbs which she toasted in browned butter and sugar.
While fruit-infused custard parfaits are still well-liked among most foodies, Karen's Pumpkin Semifreddo is worth trying this season.
