Mole Architects Design a Creative Workspace Called D2

— August 22, 2022 — Art & Design
This rhomboid-shaped creative workspace, easily identifiable by its striking facade that is composed of iridescent aluminum sheets, is the latest addition to London's Design District. The facade shifts color from green to deep blue. This feature, which adds to the eye-catching iridescent effect, is dependent on how daylight falls upon the building itself.

The Design District is envisioned as a "permanent home for the creative industries" and is characterized by 16 beautiful buildings, designed by eight pioneering architects. This particular creative workspace was designed by Cambridge-based studio Mole Architects and is called D2. Measuring 589 square meters—the smallest of the 16 buildings—and spanning three floors, D2 is Mole Architects' second development in London's Design District. The iridescent exterior of the creative workspace also creates a beautiful contrast with the surrounding buildings.
