It’s with that spirit in mind that Sony started the ‘The Studio’ program for the PlayStation 3. The program specially commissions work from award-winning design studios around the world to make new themes for the PlayStation. The backgrounds are then made available to gamers through the PlayStation Network to jazz up their dashboards. This particular work was designed by SAWDUST, an independent design firm in London, England.
The typographical design of the background combined with the recognizable PlayStation button shapes and the miniature people shooting at each other on the right truly captures both the aesthetic of the PlayStation brand and modern gamer chic at the same time. This and many other creative backgrounds are already available through the PlayStation Network.
