Sculptural Couch Cover Dresses

Yulia Yadryshnikova's Dress Also Works as a Couch Cover

Expressing the similarities between the worlds of fashion and furniture, the new capsule collection from Yulia Yadryshnikova functions as dresses, as well as covers for the Stanley sofa by Luca Nichetto.

Yadryshnikova took the upholstery fabric on Luca Nichetto's Stanley sofa and turns it into unusual, sculptural garments that still resemble dresses, although they're not quite the norm. The heavy nature of the couch cover gives the dresses a weightiness that's perfect for holding points, pleats and folds, and with these, Yadryshnikova uses carefully placed cuts in the fabric to play with both a yellow and a gray fabric with slightly different textures.

The unusual fashion collection by Yadryshnikova will be on display beside the Nichetto furniture during this year's New York Design Week at Ludlow Studios.
