Sushi Bus built a double-decker sightseeing bus with a working sushi conveyor belt, featuring an upper-deck dining area where plates circulate beside passengers. The ride pairs a 70-minute city tour with all-you-can-eat sushi and will welcome 20 passengers per run beginning October 10.
The vehicle houses a kitchen on the first floor where staff prepare dishes before an elevator lifts them to the second floor. Crew members place each plate onto a functional conveyor that runs alongside seats so riders can grab items as the bus moves. The project was in development for more than two years.
For consumers this creates a literal convergence of meal and sightseeing, letting people eat while taking in city views. The format delivers convenience and novelty for tourists and sushi lovers, and it packages dining and touring into a single shared experience.
