Maayan Zusman breaks the stigma of bland and uninviting waiting rooms with her incredibly contemporary medical office design. There are a few approaches that the creative applies to foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the project, which concerns a plastic surgery clinic in Tel Aviv.
For one, the waiting room creates a formally obsolete sense of privacy and connection. Maayan Zussman utilizes a strip-like bench, whose seats interchangeably face the opposite direction. This simple but extremely clever arrangement allows for patients to have a sense of privacy, while still having an established form of communication to a degree. In addition, the contemporary medical office boasts a strong visual interplay of light through contrasting materials and nuances — from the darkly stained wooden flooring to the white marble reception desk.
