Fabricated Forest Trails

Ellie Davies' 'Constructed Pathways' Are Handmade

Ellie Davies is a London-based artist who has created mystical forest installations in her 'Constructed Pathways' project. A calculated collection of paint, powder and wool now line the British brush, creating imaginary trails akin to those depicted in the Hansel and Gretel fable.

Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, there is also intellectual depth to Davies' work. She admits her struggle with the relationship between herself and the current use of nature. Farming, management and the ultimate reign that humankind has assumed over sprawling pastures has altered the appearance and state of green spaces.

Constructed Pathways brings the concerning phenomenon back down to its literal roots as her passages reflect the untouched flow of the spaces she works within.
