American architecture firm NBBJ, in collaboration with musician Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, has successfully built a modern community playground, situated within a public housing complex in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. The project, which has been dubbed 'Nickerson Gardens Playground,' was made possible through Flea's personal investment. The initiative has effectively brought together community members, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), and designers from ESI Design, "the east coast experience design studio within NBBJ."
