'Black Mirror', the hit series that's currently on Netflix, often presents a bleak view of the near future, but the new coach.dating game is a reference to one of the more holistically positive episodes from the anthological show. The browser-based dating game borrows the central feature from 'Hang the DJ', the sweetly romantic fourth episode of the most recent season.
coach.dating is a standalone site, and its landing page features a graphic of "Coach", the AI system responsible for pairing people and finding each users' "ultimate compatible other" in Hang the DJ. On coach.dating, users get a code to send to another user (their "partner", in the parlance of the game). Once both are connected, the game feigns a deep analysis to show each partner how long they get to spend together.
