Cloudprime is the newest innovation from Swiss performance sportswear brand On and it shares a sustainable design made from carbon emissions. The shoe made with CleanCloud EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) foam was made possible with tech company Technip Energies, chemical company LanzaTech and plastic solutions provider Borealis.
With Cloudprime, On is moving away from fossil fuels and exploring the use of alternative materials to create high-performance products. With this innovative sneaker, On is the first of its kind in the footwear industry to use carbon emissions as the main raw material for the midsole of a shoe. In a press release, Caspar Coppetti, On’s co-founder and executive co-chairman, said "Holding the first-ever shoe made of carbon emissions in my hands is a huge milestone – not only for On, but for the whole sports industry."
