'The Clearport' Turns Terminals and Security Lines into Positive Designs

When traveling to either the airport or 'The Clearport,' a newly opened retail store in New Jersey, there are terminals and airport security lines to pass through—however, the experience at The Clearport is much more entertaining.

The interactive retail store boasts an airport-inspired theme that aims to turn the airport experience into a positive one. The playful retail space boasts a section of "arrivals" to showcase upcoming store items, as well as "departures" to show off sold-out products.

When shopping, consumers collect their items in gray security bins, try on items in fitting rooms that are inspired by TSA body scanners and have the chance to join 'The Mile High Club,' which is The Clearport's own themed loyalty program. While airport security lines are generally a source of misery, they are cleverly used in this space to divide the space before the cash registers.
