Drawing her inspiration from the everyday household objects and clothing items she finds in abandoned homes, Los Angeles photographer Christie Hemm comes up with creative background stories which she sets out to recreate.

Envisioning the kinds of people who used those objects and the types of situations they might have taken part in, the artistic Hemm breathes new life into the found items and uses them as props in her extensive scenarios. Completely having fun with it, she turns discarded trash into a treasure trove of vintage costumes and old-fashioned settings which help turn her images into realistic retro rejuvenations.

Each of the photographs by Christie Hemm is like an entire play enacting the imaginary lives of people from the past.
