Handheld Noninvasive Cheese Analyzers

The SCIO Cheese Analyzer Uses Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

The SCIO Cheese Analyzer is an advanced piece of equipment engineered with the requirements of cheese industry professionals in mind to help them make quick work of product analysis.

The device utilizes near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technology to perform a cheese analysis in less than 10-seconds without the need to do any sample preparation. The device maintains a handheld design that only needs to be held up to the cheese and activated to perform the analysis to gain insight into fat, moisture and protein content. The non-destructive nature of the testing procedure will thus eliminate the need for cheeses to be augmented.

Senior Product Manager Penny Brown commented on the SCIO Cheese Analyzer saying, "Cheesemakers told us they were losing vats because they didn’t have data fast enough. So, we built something that gives them answers in seconds, requiring no cutting or grinding, and no lab delays. Just scan, decide, and take action.”
