Alzheimers-Detecting Speech Patterns

ChatGPT is Now Being Leveraged to Help Detect Alzheimer's

Recently, ChatGPT passed the USMLE, which is the US Medical Licensing Exam and following this, a team of researchers has been using the technology in a practical sense of diagnosing potential diseases. The program is fed a wide variety of information and then programmed to answer questions that are similar to the ways humans are able to form grammar. Currently, researchers at Drexel University are testing ways to detect Alzheimer's by analyzing speech patterns.

This includes pausing, vocal qualities, articulation, and more, as it is a natural language processor. In the secondary project, the team asked the system to predict scores of patients sitting through an MMSE and then uses this to assess the severity of possible dementia.
