The Ink collection is a new series of porcelain stoneware tiles introduced by Italian manufacturer Ceramiche Refin that features surfaces printed with tightly scribbled, hand-drawn lines forming abstract graphic compositions. The collection is part of Refin’s Iconic Design range and is conceived to create dynamic patterns that change in appearance with viewing distance and light. The tiles are produced in an 80 × 80 cm format with a matte finish and a thickness of 9 mm, and they can be used for both wall and floor applications.
Ink tiles are offered in a palette of eight color variants, including Pure, Grace, Bold, Cozy, Earthy, Blush, Quiet and Wavy, which span neutral, warm and deeper tones. Designs are based on variations in direction and density of the graphic marks across the surface, allowing for different visual effects and configurations when tiles are laid in diverse orientations.

Trend Themes
1. Large-format Graphic Porcelain - The 80×80 cm format and seamless matte surfaces create potential for near-continuous, low-joint coverings that redefine wall-to-floor continuity and reduce the visual fragmentation typical of smaller tiles.
2. Variable-pattern Tile Systems - Tightly scribbled, directionally varied graphics enable configurable patterning strategies that permit mass-customized layouts and dynamic surface modularity across projects.
3. Light-responsive Visual Textures - Patterns that shift appearance with viewing distance and illumination open possibilities for surfaces that intentionally change perceived texture and depth in response to natural or integrated lighting.
Industry Implications
1. Interior Design and Architecture - Design professionals can leverage dynamic porcelain graphics to manipulate spatial perception and create signature surfaces that differentiate high-end residential and commercial interiors.
2. Commercial and Hospitality Fit-outs - Branded environments in hotels and retail schemes may benefit from large-format patterned tiles that provide durable, photogenic backdrops for immersive guest and shopper experiences.
3. Residential Renovation and Retail - Home remodelers and retail finish suppliers could exploit color-varied, orientation-dependent tiles to offer modular aesthetic packages that refresh spaces without structural alteration.
