Basepaws is Introducing the First-Ever Cat DNA Test at CES 2019

With more consumers getting curious about how genetics play a role in their personal health and wellness, many innovative DNA-centric products have been introduced, spanning everything from DNA-specific meal plans to DNA-repairing sunscreens—and at CES 2019, Basepaws is introducing the first-ever cat DNA test kit.

With the direct-to-consumer DNA testing for cats, consumers are able to glean tons of information from the pet genetics start-up, such as the genetic breakdown of a cat, the breeds a cat's DNA contains and if any wild cat genes are part of a pet's genetic makeup. In the coming months of 2019, it is expected that future reports will even be able to link the test results to potential diseases and nutrition needs.

As Anna Skaya, the founder and CEO of Basepaws, says: "DNA research has revealed a vast amount of useful, often life-saving information for humans. We want to facilitate those same kind of breakthroughs for cats."
