These Iconic Cartoon Characters are Recreated Using Food Items

Graphic illustrator and artist Erin Jang has a knack for using food as her main material to recreate intricate portraits of iconic Disney cartoon characters. The personalities are made using various pieces of food products to capture the detail and bright colors of each individual character.
Food art adds a dynamic level to the creative process since the material is perishable, meaning the portrait only lasts as long as the food does giving an untimely quality to the entire piece. These portraits feature characters such as Flounder from The Little Mermaid, Marie from The Aristocrats, Pascal from Tangled and Pluto recreated using hot dog buns, slices of salami, candy and even broccoli. The use of food adds a three-dimensional and texturized aspect to the works.
