The town of Chattanooga in Tennessee is all set to well and truly embrace alternative and eco-friendly transportation options by virtue of a brand new electric car-sharing system. The project is the result of a collaboration between car-sharing service provider Green Commuter, the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority, the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Electric Power Board.

The program is designed to make it easier than ever for residents of Chattanooga to access electric vehicles as well as vehicles equipped with solar power. Not only will this program benefit the environment thanks to reduced emissions, it will also be priced at a reasonable rate in order to appeal to commuters. The end result will be expanded transportation options for people in the area.

Ultimately, this project ably proves that even medium-sized cities can benefit from electric car-sharing programs.
