KLM recently updated its iOS application to include a handy carry-on app feature that helps passengers use augmented reality to easily determine whether or not their travel luggage is within the acceptable dimensions for hand baggage.
While there are often sizing bins set up at airports to help travelers feel confident about the size of their carry-on, this new app feature lets people confirm that their suitcase meets the standards from anywhere. When it comes to using the AR hand baggage check feature, people are able to place a virtual suitcase over their own real-world luggage.
This same kind of augmented reality technology is being used for a number of comparable applications, as eBay launched a similar solution to help its users easily see the size of a shipping box they will need.
