Pression developed Wave PRO, a compact, cart-mounted external counterpulsation device that delivers automated cardiac compression therapy with calf-only sleeves and a fingertip photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor. The unit stands about four feet tall, rolls on wheels, and is designed to be used with a single sensor that times compression to the heart's relaxed phase.
The FDA cleared Wave PRO on Dec. 22, 2025, for certain adults with recurrent chest pain due to reduced blood flow who are not candidates for revascularization. A full course of ECP remains 35 one-hour sessions; Wave PRO does not shorten treatment time but reduces equipment size so multiple units can share a room. Pression expanded its Coatesville facility and built a regional supply chain, with many components sourced within about 90 minutes of headquarters.
Smaller, wheeled ECP systems like Wave PRO reduce space and staffing barriers that have limited the adoption of traditional 700-pound machines. That compact footprint makes it possible to bring ECP to critical access, rural, and skilled nursing settings, and Pression has begun scaling manufacturing and sales efforts.
