While some consumers tend to find the sweetness of white chocolate off-putting, caramelized white chocolate has emerged as an alluring gold-hued temptation with a comforting, toasty flavor.
Kit Kat recently added to its collection of treats with the all-new Kit Kat Gold bar, which is branded as a "golden white choc for a deliciously caramelized break." As the white chocolate product features no artificial colors or preservatives, the limited-edition confection gets its color only from the rich shades of caramel.
Earlier this year, Hershey's Gold was unveiled as the brand's first new bar in over 22 years, offering consumers a decadent taste of something different with a caramelized cream candy filled with pretzels and peanuts. Caramelized white chocolate has long been a secret in the culinary world, but it is now becoming commercially available to consumers as a sophisticated take on white chocolate.
