The New Miata Car Sound System Features Headrest Speakers

As far as car sound systems go, the new Miata setup is pretty dope. Designed by Bose specifically for the 2016 MX-5 Miata, this system features both roof-up and roof-down equalization.

The issue with convertible vehicles is that a lot of musical detail and clarity is lost when the roof is down. Ambient noise can drown out the sound coming out of your speakers. So while you may be able to showcase your musical taste to people on the street, you won't actually be able to properly appreciate your music sitting in the car.

That's where this car sound system comes in. It includes a microphone that analyzes ambient sounds such as wind and road noise, before boosting specific frequencies of sound to compensate for them.
