The Verizon Hum Car Gadget Lets You Monitor the Vehicle's Speed and Location

Hum is a connected car gadget, devised by Verizon, that has recently been updated to appeal to younger drivers. The latest version of the Hum will allow for geo-fencing and speed alert technologies -- this will allow car owners to get a notification on their phone when their vehicle leaves a predetermined, geo-fenced area or indeed when it drives faster than a set speed.

Costing $14.99 a month, the Hum comes with a module that can plug into the vehicle's port and pair up with a companion app that allows for roadside assistance, vehicle tracking and vehicle health monitoring.

This connected car gadget is perfect for parents to monitor the driving habits of their teenage children, because it lets them know when the vehicle strays outside permitted zones or smashes the speed limit.
