Michelle Wibowo's 'Captain Fairtrade' Dessert is Completely Edible

There's nothing better than a gigantic cake -- except for a gigantic cake that looks completely lifelike like the Captain Fairtrade dessert. Michelle Wibowo created this edible creation made of vanilla sponge cake, a vanilla butter cream filling and a sugar coating.

From the looks of the photographs, Captain Fairtrade looks a little grumpy, but that's probably because he's about to be eaten. Ahoy, matey!

Implications - Contemporary bakers and culinary artists are shunning traditional forms of cakes and other baked goods, opting instead to create edible sculptures that show a remarkable level of detail and realism. This cake was made in collaboration with Pete Fowler for the The Mad Artists Tea Party hosted by Cake Britain.
