Canva Japan Launched Animated Commercial Films

Canva Japan has introduced a fully animated advertising campaign that draws on anime-inspired storytelling to demonstrate how creative tools can support collaboration, communication, and community engagement.

Titled 'Beside Your Feelings: The Blue Sea Shopping Street,' the campaign follows a young musician who returns to her coastal hometown and works alongside friends to revitalize the local shopping district using Canva to produce posters, presentations, videos, social media content, and other creative materials. Directed by filmmaker "Toshitaka Shinoda and featuring original music by Hump Back alongside voice acting by Kaori Maeda, the campaign combines contemporary animation with an emotionally driven narrative centered on collective action and local pride."

Released as both a 30-second television commercial and an extended web-exclusive animated film, the initiative reflects Canva Japan's broader brand strategy of positioning creativity as a practical catalyst for civic participation, personal expression, and meaningful community-led initiatives through accessible digital design tools.
