Canva Launches Its New AI-Enabled Design Tool For All Its Users

Popular design app Canva has announced the launch of its newest feature, a built-in text-to-image artificial intelligence tool. After testing the feature for two months, the company has now decided to make it available for all of its 100+ million users.
The tool leverages an open-source text-to-image model called 'Stable Diffusion' and a handful of other UI-based elements. For users, it allows them to input message prompts in the form of full sentences, which the tool will then automatically turn into AI-generated images. Specific image categories offered by the feature include photos, paintings, patterns, concept art, and 3D renderings.
"We’re treating this as very much a learning experience for our community,” said Cameron Adams, the co-founder, and chief product officer of Canva. "We’re keen to get this technology in front of them because it’s an emergent field, and the exact way it works and how customers will interact with it is still being developed"
