Furniture Sweet Shops

IKEA Canada Will Soon Feature 'Pick and Mix' Candy Shop Stations

Other than furniture and food, soon there will be one more reason to visit IKEA locations in Canada—all 12 of the country's stores will soon include in-store candy shops.

The Swedish 'Lördagsgodis' shops will be known as 'Pick and Mix' self-serve stations brimming with an assortment of Scandinavian candies that are meant to be mixed and matched. Like other popular bulk candy and snack shops, the items at IKEA's Pick and Mix candy shops will be determined by weight.

This new offering from IKEA came about to revive 'Saturday candy,' a tradition that allows kids to visit the local sweet shop once a week to treat themselves to a bag of candy. To make sure that people of all ages are able to indulge in the right kind of sweets, IKEA will only serve candies that are free of trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and GMO ingredients.
