Interligne Runs a Canada-Wide Study for 2ELGBTQIA+ Folks

Interligne, a leading community organization supporting 2ELGBTQIA+ individuals, has partnered with Leger to conduct a comprehensive Canada-wide study on the mental health challenges faced by 2ELGBTQIA+ communities. The findings, supported by Women and Gender Equality Canada, reveal significant disparities in mental health outcomes and access to support services.

According to the Canada-wide study, "86% of 2ELGBTQIA+ individuals reported experiencing at least one mental health issue in the past year, compared to 64% of non-2ELGBTQIA+ individuals—additionally, only 33% of 2ELGBTQIA+ respondents described their mental health as excellent or good, while 28% rated it as poor or very poor." These figures that are notably worse than those of their non-2ELGBTQIA+ counterparts. The study also highlights dissatisfaction with available support, with "28% of 2ELGBTQIA+ respondents expressing discontent with the assistance they received."
