Skeleton-Key Necklaces by 823KEYPROJECT Feed Starving Artists

— January 29, 2009 — Art & Design
In a creative campaign to generate grant funds for enterprising artists who are working to make the world a more beautiful place, 823KEYPROJECT is selling one-of-a-kind handmade necklaces that are made from vintage keys ranging in date from 1830 to 1940.

823 skeleton-key necklaces per letter of the alphabet will be made available, totaling 21,398 keys.

The money from the sale of the 823KEY necklaces will be placed into a fund, and once the 823rd key for each letter is sold, that money will be given to selected artists in the form of a grant.

823KEYPROJECT is welcoming grant applications from creatives working in any medium who can offer authenticity, originality, new definitions, and who are breaking the barriers of conventionality in some way.

What a fantastic way to address the issue of starving artists!
