Electric Bus American Debuts

Volkswagen Will Show Its ID. Buzz for the First Time at SXSW Austin

Volkswagen has announced that its first-ever debut of the 'ID. Buzz' electric microbus in the United States will take place at 'South by Southwest' (SXSW), and will be accompanied by various 'Buzz stops.' These Buzz Stops are pop-ups that will take place around Austin during the time of SXSW, which runs between March 11th and March 20th, 2022. The Buzz Stops will allow attendees to "experience a coming chapter in the brand’s future." The Buzz Stops are also a part of a three-year-long collaboration between Volkswagen and SXSW.

The full details of the ID. Buzz will be unveiled during SXSW, but the vehicle itself takes a lot of inspiration from Volkswagen's 'Type 2 Microbus.' This also means that the ID. Buzz will run off of Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB), ensuring that the driving experience is smooth and agile. Volkswagen's ID. Buzz is only one step in a long business initiative towards innovation in the electric vehicle sector.
