Known simply as 'Wall,' Riccardo Blumer Atelier's latest creation is a bubble wall meant to highlight the limitations of physical boundaries. On display at the Venice Architecture Biennale, this unique installation utilizes machinery to create an 11-meter-long bubble wall. The programming of the machine is entirely focused on the one goal of maintaining a wall-like structure, comprised of 11 segments measuring one meter wide and two meters tall.
Designed in conjunction with Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio students, this bubble wall machine aims to stress the importance of play within the students' architectural education. The installation is open to viewer interaction, with visitors being invited to get close and interact with the walls. This interaction also serves as an exploration of the fragility and boundaries of architecture.
