The international Bristol Balloon Fiesta is an annual European event that draws hot air balloon fanatics from all over the world for three days of solid balloon flying.
This year's festival saw over 150 hot air balloons take to the sky, each with its own distinct look. For instance, one balloon was a gigantic representation of Snow White. Her iconic yellow, blue, and red dress shone out against the gray-colored sky, making her one of the most memorable balloons at the event.
Another hot air creation featured at the festival was a balloon modeled after a rooster. The bird's crown spanned the top of the balloon, while a huge beak and eyes shone out from the vessel's side. Like the other balloons at the festival, this one also displayed bright, primary and secondary colors that catch the eye, even from 500 feet in the air.
This annual balloon extravaganza is a wonderfully unique event that celebrates an interest that has been dwindling since the 19th century. However, after seeing all these fabulous balloons take flight this summer, it's clear that hot air ballooning isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
