Post-mastectomy, some women opt to have their scars covered up with a meaningful breast cancer tattoo, rather than letting cancer leave the last mark on their bodies. With the Inkspiration by P.INK (Personal Ink) app, breast cancer survivors are encouraged to check out a variety of tattoo designs or create their own, then virtually try them on.
After being able to see what a mastectomy tattoo will look like on their own body types, the app connects breast cancer survivors with local tattoo artists who are experienced at inking these specific kinds of tattoos. The free-to-download Inkspiration app was designed to help women define their own healing process post-cancer and create something beautiful out of an experience that is painful and ugly.
