Recycled Food Packaging Films

This BOPP Film Was Created by Innovia Films and PureCycle

Innovia Films and PureCycle Technologies have announced a partnership for the this cavitated biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film as a sustainable packaging solution. The packaging film is crafted out of more than 40% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and is capable of being incorporated into a variety of shelf-stable packaging formats. The film is inspired by the paper-like profile of original BOPP film varieties, which are favored for their ability to be effectively printed on and also deliver a pleasant in-hand feel.

Market Manager at Innovia Films Chris Freshwater spoke on the BOPP film with PureCycle Technologies saying, "This film produced with PureFive resin represents a major milestone and shift in the sustainability of flexible packaging. Our research and development specialists are always looking to improve the sustainability of our products. PureCycle’s dissolution recycling technology is a real gamechanger. Not only are we introducing post-consumer recycled content to our films, but we’re doing so with an energy-saving recycling technology.”

Recycled Flexible Films
Post-consumer resin integration is reshaping shelf-stable packaging by pairing familiar BOPP performance with lower-impact material profiles.
Dissolution Recycling
Advanced purification methods create openings for higher-quality recycled plastics that can meet brand expectations for consistency, safety, and printability.
Paper-like Plastic Packaging
Tactile film formats that mimic paper are expanding the premium feel of sustainable packaging while preserving the durability and barrier benefits of plastic.
