Blue Sparkling Wines

Skyfall Gran Reserva is a Naturally Blue Sparkling Wine from Spain

Skyfall Gran Reserva is a naturally blue sparkling wine from Spain that is now being launched in the UK.

The wine is made with four types of grapes—Macabeu, Parellada, Xarel·lo and Chardonnay—plus a blend of natural flower and fruit extracts, which adds the distinctive turquoise hue to the wine. Each bottle of Skyfall Gran Reserva is aged for a period of three years and labelled by hand.

Many food and beverage producers are experimenting with the use of the butterfly pea flower for creating blue-hued teas, preserves and other treats. In combination with slightly acidic citrus juice, the butterfly pea flower's pH levels are altered, causing a dramatic color change. Blumond, Gik and Azul are the names of some of the other branded blue wine beverages that can be found across the world.
