Biscuits are a great bread-substitute to use when making sandwiches and these homemade versions are ideal for making miniature BLTs that are ideal to serve as gourmet apps at a party or a sophisticated brunch.
The recipe for these BLT sandwiches begins with homemade biscuits made from flour, salt, butter, buttermilk and eggs. The biscuits are rolled into smaller-sizes to make one-bite sandwiches. Once the biscuits are baked and are super flakey and golden they can be topped with the traditional BLT fixings including square sliced crispy bacon, fresh cherry tomatoes, torn lettuce and mayo.
Thanks to the smaller size of these BLTs they can be enjoyed in one bite as finger food at get togethers or sit down brunches. The upscale take on the recipe makes it a bit more sophisticated.
