B-Line is a Distribution Networking Building Sustainable Urban Life
Tiana Reid — January 10, 2013 — Social Good
Based in Portland, Oregon and founded in 2009, B-Line is a sustainable delivery and distribution network that focuses specifically on the "last mile." The last mile is typically known as the very end of companies deliveries to the customers directly -- it's traditionally jargon from telecommunications, Internet and cable TV industries. In many ways, it can be considered one of the most important parts of the chain because this is where customers and companies connect on the network but delivering the last mile can also prove to be a challenge.
B-Line uses part electric cargo trikes and has so far reduced about 54,000 pounds of CO2 emissions in comparison to what other logistics companies use, that is, vans and trucks.
